About
The World Tree is a fantasy AU fanzine based on the anime series World Trigger, reimagining our favorite characters in fantasy settings. We’re trading sci-fi and alien tech for fairytales and magic, taking inspiration from traditional western fantasy elements and other properties such as Dungeons & Dragons, Dungeon Meshi, Lord of the Rings, or the numerous titles in the isekai genre.
Whether it’s a quiet night at an inn, drinks at a tavern, or a jaunty conversation while on the road, this zine wants to shine the light on World Trigger characters having brand new adventures within the fantastical world around them.
This zine is SFW and no explicit content will be featured. While we will allow contributors to portray some mature themes (e.g. canon-typical violence, adult language, etc.), The World Tree will not feature any content beyond a PG-13 rating.
Zine Theme
The World Tree will focus on a fantasy theme, unifying under western fantasy themes and elements. Beyond that, we encourage our contributors to let their imaginations run wild! We welcome everything from fairytales to folklore, magic to myths, adventurers to monsters, royalty to swashbucklers, and everything else that you might find between the pages of a well-worn storybook. We invite you to join us on this journey and to draw inspiration from the fantasies that move you.
Zine Specs
The World Tree will feature work from various page artists, writers, merch artists, and potentially other media (such as cosplayers, recipes, papercrafts, textiles, etc.). We would also like to have a limited number of back-up contributors in case any contributors from our initial line up drop out for any reason.
This zine plans to be in both physical and digital format, though page count is to be determined. The zine will be A5 (5.83 in x 8.27 in).
We also plan on including a SFW companion zine,The World Tree: Twined, focusing on romantic relationships within the same fantasy AU theme. This companion zine will be A5 (5.83 in x 8.27 in) and will possibly be a digital-only release.
